Bacău Bypass to Close for A7 Highway Connection; Traffic to be Diverted

The Regional Directorate for Road and Bridges (DRDP) Iași announced a temporary closure of the Bacău Bypass (A7) from July 15 to August 31, 2026. This measure is required to connect new segments of the A7 highway. The contractor requested the closure, which received approval from CNAIR SA and IGPR.

The entire 20.3-kilometer stretch of the Bacău Bypass will be closed to traffic. During this period, vehicles will be rerouted through the city of Bacău via DN 2. DRDP Iași urged drivers to understand the temporary inconvenience and to plan their journeys in advance to prevent traffic jams and extended waiting times.

The Bacău Bypass is a vital part of the Moldova Highway (A7), a strategic infrastructure project for the region. Construction is ongoing for the final section of the Focșani-Bacău segment and three lots of the Bacău-Pașcani segment, with expected completion in 2026. The Focșani-Bacău section spans 95.9 kilometers and is partially open, with some lots expected to open in 2026.
