Bahrul Ulum Pesantren Receives Ambulance, Quran Donations for NU Congress

Pondok Pesantren Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas in Jombang has received a significant donation of two ambulances and 1,000 copies of the Quran from the Yayasan Anugerah Nusantara Al Mubarokah (YANMU).

The contributions are designated to bolster the upcoming 35th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) congress, scheduled from August 27 to 31. KH M Hasib Wahab Hasbullah, head of the pesantren's foundation, stated the ambulances will prioritize health services for congress attendees, particularly elderly religious scholars who might require emergency care.

"This ambulance is not to wish many people sick. Rather, it is a form of effort so that we can provide the best service to the participants, especially the elderly. The ambulance is also equipped with various equipment for emergency medical needs," Kiai Hasib explained during the handover ceremony.

He described the donation as a blessing, arriving amidst the pesantren's preparations to host the highest deliberation forum of Nahdlatul Ulama. "This is truly 'haza min fadhli Rabbi' (this is from the bounty of my Lord). Since the process of being appointed as host until now, we have felt many conveniences and help from Allah SWT. Aid like this is part of that blessing," he added.

YANMU's Deputy Chairman, Syahdhana H Baswara, affirmed the foundation's commitment to strengthening pesantren through social, educational, religious, and health programs. The handover at Bahrul Ulum is part of YANMU's humanitarian tour to several pesantren in East Java.
