Himi Persis 11th Muktamar emphasizes movement transformation for Indonesia and civilization

The Himpunan Mahasiswi Persatuan Islam (Himi Persis), an Islamic women's student organization, convened its 11th Muktamar in Depok from August 7-9, 2026. Under the theme 'Himi Persis for Indonesia, Transformation of the Movement in Building Civilization,' the organization's highest forum aimed to chart its future course and strengthen its contributions to the nation.

Gina Ainal Mardiah, the Chairperson of the Central Leadership of Himi Persis, stressed that the Muktamar signifies more than just a change in leadership. She described it as a crucial space for evaluating the organization's journey, renewing its strategies, reinforcing its efforts, and realigning its direction. "The Muktamar holds greater meaning. It is a moment to evaluate the organization's journey, renew, strengthen, and straighten the direction of Himi Persis's movement going forward," she stated.

Indonesia is moving very fast. New realities continue to emerge and must be faced. Himi Persis must not only be a space for gathering but must become a space for growth, learning, and providing solutions to the problems of the ummah and the nation.

Mardiah highlighted the Muktamar as a pivotal point for the organization, which has reached its third decade. She acknowledged the significant social, technological, and societal shifts presenting challenges that student organizations must address seriously. Indonesia's rapid development necessitates adaptation from all national elements, including student bodies like Himi Persis. The organization must evolve without abandoning its core values, becoming not just a gathering place but a hub for growth, learning, and providing solutions to societal and national issues.
