Baltic Envoys Reject Russian Claims in Moscow Demarche

Envoys from Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania in Moscow jointly lodged a strong protest with Russia's Foreign Ministry on July 10. They unequivocally refuted public statements made by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin on July 4, which they described as "blatantly false."

The representatives stressed that the Baltic states have never permitted their airspace to be used for drone attacks targeting Russia. They referenced a joint statement by the Baltic foreign ministers on April 10, reaffirming this stance. Despite consistent declarations from Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania at various levels, the Russian side continues to disseminate falsehoods and escalate the situation, the Baltic states assert.

They rejected these claims as "absolutely unfounded," attributing any drone incursions into Baltic airspace to the consequences of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine. The envoys also dismissed other recent false allegations against the Baltic states by Russian Foreign Ministry officials. They emphasized that Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania fully uphold the rule of law for all their residents, stating that claims to the contrary are factually baseless and deliberate disinformation attempts by Russia.
