Video: Ukraine strikes eight Russian 'shadow fleet' tankers

Ukraine has reported successful strikes against eight Russian "shadow fleet" oil tankers operating in the Sea of Azov, causing significant damage and igniting fires. The Ukrainian military released video footage purportedly showing the attacks on the vessels, which were transporting fuel.

According to Serhiy Brоvdi, a representative involved in the operation, the targeted tankers included the "Venera-3," "Sanar-1," "Sanar-17," "Klimena," "Teti," "Aleksey Savrasov," and "Penelopa," with the name of one other vessel still being identified. These ships, built between 2006 and 2012, are all under international sanctions. Brоvdi stated that a cargo ship and a ferry were also damaged during the night's operations.

In addition to the naval strikes, Ukrainian forces reportedly destroyed 58 military targets within Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories. Energy infrastructure in Crimea was also hit, with reports of "burning logistics." Ukrainian armed forces also conducted strikes on facilities in Russia's Bryansk region, targeting a microelectronics factory and a chemical plant, as well as an oil depot near Belgorod airport.

Officials in Russia's Bryansk region claimed to have intercepted 103 Ukrainian drones, while Moscow's mayor reported over 400 drones downed over the capital region. Ukrainian monitoring channels, however, indicated explosions in the Moscow region.
