Bandung BJB Tandamata Player Calista Maya Returns to BSI Flash Bogor

Calista Maya Ersandita returned to BSI Flash Bogor as a professional athlete after once competing in the school tournament for SMA Al-Nur Cibinong. She now plays outside hitter for Bandung BJB Tandamata, one of Indonesia’s leading teams.

Calista told students about her rise from school-level competition to the professional league. She said she was grateful for the playing time she received throughout the season with Bandung BJB Tandamata.

Her interest in volleyball began at home. “When I was little, I often saw my mother, father and older sibling leaving for practice. That was where my interest in taking up volleyball began,” she said.

Family support and steady development at SMA Al-Nur Cibinong helped shape her as an athlete. She is now regarded as one of the promising young outside hitters in Indonesia’s national volleyball scene.

Watching students compete at BSI Flash, Calista urged those hoping to reach major leagues to stay disciplined. “You have to train diligently. Whatever your goal, you have to practice regularly and consistently,” she said. Organized annually by Bina Sarana Informatika University, BSI Flash aims to develop students’ sporting interests and talents, including in volleyball.
