Bandung Regent Warns Civil Servants Against Online Gambling Amid Maulid Nabi Celebration

During a Maulid Nabi celebration and 81st Indonesian Independence Day commemoration in Bandung Regency, Regent Dadang Supriatna called on the community to follow the noble character of Prophet Muhammad. He acknowledged the region's secure and stable condition, attributing it to the collective effort of all residents in achieving a better Bandung.

Supriatna voiced his deep concern regarding alleged online gambling activities among civil servants. He directed the Bandung Civil Service and Human Resources Agency (BKPSDM) to take immediate action to prevent further involvement. "There is no such thing as gambling. Don't dream of getting rich through online gambling," he stated, emphasizing that civil servants found participating would face sanctions.

The regent also addressed the local economy, explaining that efforts are underway to optimize the region's original revenue (PAD) due to a substantial Rp 1 trillion reduction in central government transfers (TKD). Despite this financial challenge, he assured that the Rp 109 billion incentive for Quranic teachers would continue, demonstrating the regency's commitment to their role in character education. Supriatna urged teachers to focus on nurturing children with good character and morals, stressing the importance of religion in developing well-rounded individuals.
