Banten wig maker receives customs facility, expects exports to reach $10 million

An export-oriented wig manufacturer in Indonesia’s Banten province has received a customs facility that officials expect to help expand production and overseas sales.

PT UMME IDN DIV, based in Cikupa, Tangerang Regency, received the KITE Exemption facility from the Banten regional customs office on September 2, 2026. Officials project that the company could generate wig exports worth up to $10 million a year, invest as much as 4 billion rupiah and potentially create jobs.

As business activity increases, the company located in Cikupa, Tangerang Regency, is projected to realize investment of up to 4 billion rupiah and has the potential to absorb labour.

The facility provides fiscal relief for imported raw materials, supporting materials and packaging used to produce goods for export. Eligible imports receive exemptions from import duties, while value-added tax and luxury-goods sales tax are not collected.

Ambang, head of the Banten customs office, said the arrangement would give the company room to optimize production and improve its competitiveness in international markets. Customs officials also assisted PT UMME IDN DIV during the application process, helping it understand the requirements and prepare to meet the applicable rules.
