Parliament Committee Approves Rp49.80 Trillion Budget for Finance Ministry in 2027

Indonesia's House Commission XI has approved a Rp49.80 trillion budget plan for the Finance Ministry in 2027.

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa thanked the commission's leaders and members for approving the proposed allocation during a working meeting in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

The budget includes Rp78.86 billion for fiscal, financial-sector and economic policy; Rp3.62 trillion for state revenue management; and Rp23.78 billion for state expenditure management. A further Rp267.58 billion will go to treasury, state assets and risk management, while Rp45.81 trillion is assigned to management support.

The meeting also agreed that the ministry's budget should be made more efficient by focusing on effective outputs, outcomes and impacts. Throughout 2027, the ministry will submit quarterly performance reports detailing program implementation and budget use. The reports will link targets, programs, activities, outputs, outcomes, impacts, fiscal and economic effects, and beneficiaries to the resources spent.

Commission XI recommended improvements in budget planning, allocation and implementation to ensure spending becomes more effective, efficient, targeted and focused on results. Sadewa said the ministry had recorded questions and requests for clarification raised during the meetings and would provide written responses within the required deadline.
