Báo Thanh Niên has 6 outstanding works praised by Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City has honored Báo Thanh Niên newspaper, recognizing six of its journalistic works as outstanding contributions in the second quarter of 2026. These selected pieces were part of a larger pool of 70 excellent articles that focused on various aspects of the city's progress and character during the period.

The recognition ceremony, held on August 26, was jointly organized by the Propaganda and Training Department of the City Party Committee, the Department of Culture and Sports, and the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association. The event celebrated authors and teams whose journalistic efforts significantly highlighted the city. Attendees included prominent figures from Vietnamese journalism and city administration, such as Trần Trọng Dũng, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, and Nguyễn Ngọc Hồi, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports.

Among the honored works by Báo Thanh Niên were a series titled "50 Years: The City Named After Uncle Ho: From Pioneering Spirit to Aspirations for Growth," and another series, "Ho Chi Minh City: Opening New Horizons, Building New Stature." Other recognized pieces included reports on the transformation of the Mả Lạng and Thanh Đa areas, an article on the city's accelerated infrastructure investment, a feature on foreigners embracing Ho Chi Minh City's culinary scene, and timely reporting on the recovery of martyrs' remains at Lê Thị Riêng Park.

Nguyễn Ngọc Hồi, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, expressed gratitude to the media outlets and journalists for their dedication. He urged them to continue focusing on key themes, particularly the implementation of special policies and mechanisms designed for the city. Hồi emphasized the need for reporting to move beyond legal frameworks and instead provide direct reflections of practical effectiveness and positive changes resulting from new laws and policies. He also encouraged journalists to contribute ideas that foster double-digit growth for the city.

In the coming time, there will be key topic groups that press agencies and reporter teams need to focus on investing in; at the same time, journalistic works must closely follow the breath of reality and create strong social impact.
