Bapera DKI Jakarta Pledges Social Support for Provincial Government

Barisan Pemuda Nusantara (Bapera) DKI Jakarta has declared its readiness to collaborate with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government on various community challenges, including providing assistance during disasters. The organization believes that strengthening social engagement through beneficial activities is crucial for the capital's residents.

Basri Baco, Chairman of DPD Bapera DKI Jakarta, announced this commitment during the organization's Regional Work Meeting (Rakerda) in Central Jakarta. The meeting, themed "Youth Moving Towards a New Era of Jakarta," was attended by DPP Bapera Chairman Fahd El Fouz A Rafiq and Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial National Unity Agency (Kesbangpol), Muhamad Matsani.

Baco highlighted that Bapera's unique strength lies in its commitment to community service. "This is what makes us a bit unique, and indeed the chairman's spirit is to build this organization through service to the community, so wherever we are, we must have a function and be useful to the existing community," he stated. He added that even small acts of assistance during times of need can significantly alleviate the burden on affected residents.

He stressed that Bapera's social role must align with its partnership with the provincial government. Baco instructed cadres to maintain communication with local authorities and refrain from actions that could disrupt government operations. He also emphasized the importance of Bapera's independence, prohibiting cadres from seeking funding through proposals or using the organization's name for personal financial gain, such as acting as parking attendants or engaging in other informal income-generating activities. This, he believes, preserves Bapera's image as a community organization and prevents involvement in 'premanisme' (thuggery).

DPP Bapera Chairman Fahd El Fouz A Rafiq praised Basri Baco's leadership for expanding Bapera's structure to the sub-district and neighborhood levels. Fahd noted that this strengthened organizational base prepares cadres to take on public roles, including in local politics.
