BAT Ideology Appoints Attorney-General Fagbemi as Grand Patron

The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Ideological Group has appointed Nigeria’s Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi, as its Grand Patron. Fagbemi accepted the role, according to a statement signed by the group’s convener, Bamidele Atoyebi.

The group used the engagement to discuss Nigeria’s political situation in Kwara State and plans to strengthen grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu before the 2027 general elections. It said projects and initiatives linked to the Tinubu administration would help it deliver Kwara South and the state to the president.

Among the projects it cited were a newly established battalion in Omu-Aran, work toward the Ora to Ijagbo to Osogbo Road project, compressed natural gas buses for civil servants, and employment opportunities that it said had benefited thousands of people in Kwara.

The group said it is targeting at least 15 million votes nationwide for Tinubu. It based that goal on projects undertaken by the administration, initiatives it said it had helped facilitate, and what it described as measurable effects across the country.

Fagbemi urged the leadership to look beyond delivering Kwara State for Tinubu and work to deliver all APC candidates in the state. He also commended the group’s projects across 20 states, saying it was shifting support groups from complaints to contribution and from influence without authority to practical impact. He said he would be proud to be associated with the movement.
