Baudin: 'I Will Fight to Keep the Lead, But My Career Is Already a Success'

French cyclist Alex Baudin is focused on defending his yellow jersey lead in the upcoming stages of the race, acknowledging their difficulty. "I want to keep the maillot for as long as possible. The last three stages are going to be very, very tough, so I will have to be strong and I will have to fight," Baudin stated after the stage.

Despite his competitive drive, Baudin views his current achievement as a significant success for his career. "For the cyclist from Albertville, his career so far 'is already a success, and everything that happens now is a bonus.' He added, "We will try to get a good overall result on Sunday, but in any case, it will be a success."

Reflecting on the fourth stage, which saw the day's breakaway finish with a narrow margin, Baudin highlighted his team's crucial role. "It was a pretty stressful day at the end, especially because of the wind. The team did a fantastic job again to position me well. Normally, I hate that. I think I've never been so well-positioned in a final!" he concluded.
