Bayern Munich defender Jonathan Tah praises new signing Noussair Mazraoui

German international defender Jonathan Tah has lauded new Bayern Munich recruit Noussair Mazraoui, expressing his eagerness to play alongside the Moroccan international for the Bavarian club next season.

Tah told "Bavarian Football Works" that Mazraoui had caught his attention during his time at Ajax. He also mentioned that he enjoyed watching the Moroccan player during the 2026 World Cup finals. The German defender emphasized Mazraoui's diverse offensive abilities, highlighting his capacity to operate in various positions and make a significant impact due to his physical strength and technical skills.

"Facing Mazraoui is not easy," Tah stated, noting the player's blend of physical power and technical quality, which allows him to create surprises at any moment. Mazraoui scored three goals for the Moroccan national team during the 2026 World Cup but missed the quarter-final match against France due to a muscle injury. He subsequently underwent an individual rehabilitation program at Bayern Munich's training center.

Mazraoui joined Bayern Munich from Ajax on a five-year contract, with the transfer reportedly valued at around 55 million euros. He is considered one of the club's key signings for the current summer transfer window, alongside fellow newcomer Nathanaël Brown. Tah expressed his anticipation of playing with both new signings, believing they can significantly contribute to the team. Mazraoui is currently focused on regaining full match fitness for the start of the 2026/2027 season, having returned to collective training with Bayern Munich after his individual rehabilitation period.
