Bayern Munich's Eberl Praises New Signing Brown, Sees Him as Future Star

Bayern Munich's Sporting Director, Max Eberl, has expressed high expectations for the club's new recruit, Nathaniel Brown, stating that the player "owns the future" at the Bavarian club. Eberl highlighted Brown's quality, which he believes was evident to everyone during the World Cup.

I believe everyone saw at the World Cup, at the very latest, what quality Nene has.

"When the opportunity arose, we had to strike because I believe he is the player to whom the future belongs," Eberl said during Brown's official presentation. The German international arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt for a transfer fee of around 50 million euros, with his contract running until June 30, 2031.

Brown, who scored his first goal for the German national team in their 7-1 victory against Curaçao during the World Cup opener, was lauded by Eberl for his versatility. "An incredibly flexible player," the Sporting Director remarked.

The U21 vice-European champion from the previous year is primarily expected to provide competition for the often-injured Canadian Alphonso Davies at the left-back position. Brown will wear the number 11 jersey, previously worn by Champions League-winning goal scorer Kingsley Coman. This number became available after Michael Olise opted to retain the number 17 he wears for the national team. Regarding the future of Alphonso Davies, Eberl indicated that selling the player is not the immediate priority, but the club would consider any transfer interest from defender Hiroki Ito.
