Bayern Munich thrashes Stuttgart 5-1 to open Bundesliga season

Bayern Munich kicked off their Bundesliga title defense with a resounding 5-1 victory over Stuttgart, showcasing their attacking prowess.

Dayot Upamecano opened the scoring with a header from a Joshua Kimmich corner in the 17th minute. However, Stuttgart, employing a man-to-man defense, managed to stifle Bayern's build-up play and even found an equalizer through Josha Vagnoman after an Upamecano error in the second half.

Bayern quickly reasserted their dominance. Michael Olise restored the lead in the 55th minute with a well-placed shot after a pass from Kimmich. Shortly after, an own goal by Vagnoman, who inadvertently deflected a Davies cross into his own net, extended Bayern's advantage.

Aleksandar Pavlovic added a fourth goal, assisted by Ismael Saibari, who had received a long pass from Olise. In added time, Luis Díaz sealed the emphatic win with Bayern's fifth goal, also set up by Saibari after a midfield recovery.

Stuttgart's goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow made several impressive saves in the first half to keep the scoreline respectable, denying Luis Díaz and Nathaniel Brown. Despite their efforts, Stuttgart couldn't contain Bayern's relentless attack, which also saw a goal disallowed by VAR for a marginal offside call against Olise.
