Bayern's Musiala collapses on pitch for second time in three days

Jamal Musiala, a midfielder for Bayern Munich, was substituted off the field after collapsing during a pre-season friendly match on Tuesday. This incident marks the second time in three days the 23-year-old has experienced a collapse on the pitch.

Musiala fell to the ground shortly after entering the game against second-division side Heidenheim. He appeared dazed while receiving medical attention and was assisted off the field. Following the match, Bayern's sporting director, Max Eberl, indicated that Musiala would address the situation soon, stating, "Jamal will speak about this in the near future. We knew about it, and we are aware of the situation."

The midfielder also collapsed during a match against RB Leipzig on Saturday, requiring medical attention amidst high temperatures exceeding 30°C in Munich. Musiala's health concerns come after he missed the first six months of the previous season due to a broken ankle sustained during the Club World Cup. He did, however, return for the latter half of the campaign and represented Germany in the 2026 World Cup.
