BAZNAS Distributes Food Aid to Earthquake Survivors in East Nusa Tenggara

The National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Indonesia has provided crucial aid to earthquake victims in Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). On Monday, 500 Family Logistics Packages (PLK) were distributed to survivors at the Golo Conggo Post in Reok District.

Each PLK is filled with essential food supplies, including rice, cooking oil, sugar, biscuits, and instant noodles. This initiative aims to alleviate the burden on affected families who are facing limited access to food during the emergency response phase. The distribution was personally overseen by Idy Muzayyad, BAZNAS RI's Head of Distribution, Utilization, and Empowerment, and witnessed by local officials.

Muzayyad emphasized BAZNAS's commitment to ensuring the basic needs of earthquake survivors, especially those in temporary shelters, are met. BAZNAS plans to distribute a total of 1,000 food packages in stages.

The agency is also providing other forms of assistance, including food services, mobile kitchens, clean water facilities, temporary mosques, and health services. BAZNAS continues to monitor the situation in NTT to ensure aid is effectively delivered. Kamaruddin Abdullah, a survivor and head of a local religious school, expressed gratitude for the aid, stating it significantly helps his family meet their food needs while living in a shelter.
