BBNaija: Martins becomes first housemate evicted after two weeks

Martins Iyeh, a 30-year-old visual storyteller and model from Kogi State, has become the first housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother Naija Season 11 reality show. His departure occurred during Sunday night's live eviction show, following two weeks of competition.

Martins was among the 24 contestants who entered the house when the 11th season, themed "Everything Is For The Taking" (also known as "Show Ya Sef"), premiered on July 26. This season boasts a record N160 million prize package, which includes N100 million in cash and an SUV.

Describing himself as a creative director, visual storyteller, and model, Martins had expressed his intention to use the Big Brother Naija platform to showcase his personality and creativity to a broader audience. Basketball is listed among his interests, and he humorously claimed mind-reading as a hidden talent.

Upon entering the house, Martins stated his primary goal was to "have fun" and make the most of his time. During his brief stay, he formed bonds with several housemates early on and participated in conversations and social activities that influenced the season's initial dynamics. His birthday was celebrated within the house shortly after the launch, featuring a special gathering, a performance by Mercedes, and well wishes from fellow contestants.

The eviction marks a new stage in the competition, with the second week seeing a significant number of nominees. Initially, sixteen housemates faced possible eviction. Head of House Sheba saved Chimsom Chuka, while Aikou and Flora remained protected due to the season's "Gambits." The season has already introduced several twists as the remaining contestants vie for the N160 million grand prize, navigating weekly nominations, tasks, alliances, and evictions.

With Martins' exit, the number of contestants competing for the ultimate prize has decreased, intensifying the race for the Season 11 crown.
