A high-ranking official from the Chinese Communist Party's International Department has lauded the relationship between China and Cuba, describing the two nations as "good brothers" during a recent meeting in Havana. The visit underscores a show of solidarity as the United States intensifies pressure on the Caribbean island.

Liu Haixing, the head of the International Department, held talks with Emilio Lozada Garcia, the international relations chief of the Communist Party of Cuba. According to an official Chinese readout, Liu characterized the ties between the two countries as "unprecedentedly new" and emphasized their shared status as "good friends, good comrades and good brothers."

Liu stated that China and Cuba have consistently supported each other through a dynamic global landscape, which has deepened their friendship. He affirmed China's strategic and long-term perspective on bilateral relations, pledging continued adherence to the established friendly policy.
