Bekasi Prosecutor's Office Denies Rumors of Director Being Named Corruption Suspect

The Bekasi Regency Public Prosecutor's Office (Kejari) has firmly refuted circulating rumors that the Director of Perumda Tirta Bhagasasi, Reza Lutfi Hasan, has been named a suspect in a corruption investigation. Officials described the document claiming the suspect designation as a fabricated and modified letter, asserting that the information is entirely untrue.

Ronald Thomas Mendrofa, Head of the Special Crimes Section (Kasi Pidsus) at Kejari Kabupaten Bekasi, explained that the widely shared letter, which purportedly declared Reza Lutfi Hasan a suspect, is a forgery. "This letter has been edited and modified," Ronald stated, emphasizing that the document's format, Pidsus-5A, is not used for suspect designations but rather for requesting information during the investigation phase.

Mendrofa further clarified discrepancies in the document's surat number, which claimed to be SP-245/M.2.31/Fd.1/12/2025 Pidsus-5A. He pointed out that the number 245 actually belongs to a summons for a witness in a separate corruption case (Tipikor Desa Sumber Jaya) involving Herman Suratno, indicating a deliberate attempt to mislead the public. The correct surat order for requesting information in the Tirta Bhagasasi case, he noted, was number 76, not 025 as implied, and the number 205 was the correct sequence for the investigation phase, not 245.

Kejari Kabupaten Bekasi is considering legal action regarding the spread of the false document. "If this is used in ways that harm the investigation, for us it is obstruction of justice. If the letter is false, it is the dissemination of fake news," Ronald warned, highlighting potential legal consequences for those involved in spreading the modified document. The Head of Intelligence Section, Fajar Gigih Wibowo, urged the public to verify information before sharing it.
