Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko is set to make a state visit to Indonesia, with meetings scheduled at the Merdeka Palace on July 1-2, 2026. He will meet with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, marking a significant diplomatic engagement between the two nations.

Lukashenko arrived in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, receiving a formal welcome at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base from Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin. Sjamsoeddin conveyed that Lukashenko's visit is a crucial moment for reinforcing the friendship between Belarus and Indonesia. He added that the visit "opens up room for strengthening strategic cooperation that respects and contributes to the progress of both nations."

The Belarusian president's delegation includes his son, Dmitry Lukashenko, who had arrived earlier and met with Indonesian Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman. This visit follows President Prabowo's trip to Belarus in July 2025, where he met Lukashenko in Minsk. Their previous meeting, lasting nearly three hours, focused on strategic issues including trade, commodities, and fertilizer supply.

During their 2025 meeting, Lukashenko noted that Prabowo was the second head of state to visit his residence in Ozyorny after its renovation, following Russian President Vladimir Putin.
