Maluku Immigration Strengthens Oversight to Support Investment and Tourism

The Maluku Immigration Office is intensifying its oversight to foster a more conducive environment for investment and tourism in the region. This strategic enhancement focuses on optimizing intelligence operations, enforcing immigration laws, and fostering synergy with various government bodies and local communities.

Maluku, an archipelagic province with numerous border areas and islands, experiences significant population mobility. Gindo Ginting, the Head of the Maluku Immigration Office, emphasized that strengthening supervision is a key priority. He stated that successful immigration management is measured not only by efficient and high-quality services but also by the institution's ability to safeguard national sovereignty through effective oversight and just law enforcement, with community involvement.

The office plans to implement collaborative and preventive approaches, including intensive coordination with regional governments, the military, police, and other relevant agencies. This aims to minimize immigration-related vulnerabilities. Additionally, the Maluku Immigration Office will optimize its "PIMPASA" program and "Desa Binaan Imigrasi" (Immigration Foster Villages) to boost community participation in immigration supervision down to the village level.

Gindo stressed that immigration tasks must be performed accountably, transparently, professionally, and with a focus on results, upholding integrity as the foundation for public service. He believes that strengthening immigration functions will support Maluku's investment climate and tourism sector by providing excellent service while maintaining national security and sovereignty.
