Belgrade Pride Week begins with N1 journalist Danica Vucenic as patron

Belgrade Pride Week has begun under the slogan “There Is Room for All of Us,” bringing a week of events to the Serbian capital through September 6.

The programme includes exhibitions, theatre performances, lectures, panel discussions, sporting activities and parties. The main event, the traditional Pride March, is scheduled for 4 p.m. on September 5. It will start at Manjez Park and continue through central Belgrade before returning to the park for a concert with live performers and DJs.

Organisers said this year’s slogan echoes the wording used for Serbia’s first Pride 25 years ago. They presented the link as a reminder of both the changes since then and the work that remains.

They also said discrimination and violence against LGBTQ+ people remain widespread, while important legal protections are still missing. N1 journalist Danica Vucenic has been named patron of this year’s Pride.
