Belgrade transfers organized crime suspects in Vesković murder case to special prosecutor

Belgrade's Higher Public Prosecutor's Office has handed over the investigation into the murder of Darko Vesković to the Public Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime (JTOK). The case, which also includes charges of inflicting bodily harm on Vuk Musić, occurred on June 22, 2026, in Belgrade.

Authorities suspect that the accused, identified as N.K., D.Dž., M.T.E., and D.V., operated as an organized criminal group. They are charged with premeditated murder and grievous bodily harm. The investigation also targets individuals accused of aiding the perpetrators in their escape.

There is a founded suspicion that the accused N. K., D. DŽ., M. T. E., and D. V. acted as an organized criminal group and committed the criminal offenses of aggravated murder and grievous bodily harm.

Two key suspects, N.K. and D.Dž., are currently fugitives, prompting the issuance of international arrest warrants. They have been ordered into custody. Meanwhile, M.T.E. and D.V. are also in custody and are being investigated for assisting the perpetrators after the crime. The case has international dimensions, with three individuals being prosecuted in Montenegro for facilitating the illegal border crossing and hiding of N.K. and D.Dž. between Serbia and Montenegro.

N.K. and D.Dž. are on the run, which is why the prosecution proposed to the judge for preliminary proceedings of the Higher Court in Belgrade to order their detention and issue an arrest warrant.
