Bella arrives at court, asks for prayers for Syed Saddiq

Actress Bella Astillah arrived at the Federal Court to show support for her fiancé, Muar Member of Parliament Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, as he awaits the final appeal decision regarding his conviction and sentence for misappropriating funds from Angkatan Bersatu Anak Muda (Armada).

Bella, whose full name is Dayang Ara Nabellah Awang Astillah, 32, arrived at 7:55 a.m. She wore a yellow floral baju kurung and offered a brief smile to the media. When asked about her hopes for the day's proceedings, she simply said, "Pray for us."

The Federal Court's decision will determine whether Syed Saddiq will be acquitted or must serve a seven-year prison sentence. He was found guilty on November 9, 2023, by the Kuala Lumpur High Court on four charges. These included abetting former Armada Assistant Treasurer Rafiq Hakim Razali in misappropriating RM1 million in Armada funds and using RM120,000 from his Maybank Islamic Berhad account for personal gain. Syed Saddiq was also convicted of two counts of money laundering, involving the transfer of RM50,000 each from his Maybank Islamic Berhad account to his Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) account, which were proceeds of illegal activities.
