Bellingham, Ha Long Bay… 13 cities with ties to Cheongju featured in photos of nature and citizens

Cheongju city is set to host a captivating photo exhibition titled 'Our City, Our Story,' offering residents a glimpse into the diverse lives and landscapes of its international sister cities. The exhibition will feature 26 carefully selected photographs from 13 cities across seven different countries, providing a unique window into global cultures and connections.

The participating cities include Wuhan, Wuxi, and Huzhou in China; Tottori, Kofu, and Kikuchi in Japan; Rostov-on-Don in Russia; Bellingham in the United States; Hai Phong, Bac Ninh Province, and Quang Ninh Province in Vietnam; Wroclaw in Poland; and Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan. These cities share a bond with Cheongju through various exchange programs and collaborations.

Visitors to the exhibition can expect to see a rich tapestry of imagery, ranging from the scenic beauty of Bellingham Bay's Mount Baker to the grandeur of Rostov-on-Don's cathedrals and the breathtaking karst landscapes of Vietnam's Ha Long Bay. The collection also includes vibrant depictions of local festivals, significant events, and the everyday lives of citizens, such as a fashion show in Wuhan, fireworks in Russia, and the lychee harvest in Vietnam.

Kim Young-ran, head of Cheongju city's international trade team, expressed the exhibition's purpose: "We have organized this exhibition to share the culture, daily life, and stories of our international exchange cities with the citizens of Cheongju." The exhibition is scheduled to tour various district offices within Cheongju throughout September and October.
