Benue Governor Nominates Six for State Executive Council

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has forwarded the names of six nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as members of the State Executive Council. The list includes individuals proposed to replace outgoing members and fill existing vacancies.

The nominees are Kuma Yenge, Roy Ashirga, Monday Angwa Egbe, Onma Ogenyi, Solomon Iorpev, and Nick Eworo. Governor Alia stated in a letter to the Speaker of the Assembly, Mr. Alfred Emberga, that these nominations are intended to bolster the State Executive Council and enhance his administration's capacity.

According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Zape Upaa, the governor cited his constitutional powers under Section 192 of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria. Governor Alia requested the Assembly's prompt and favorable consideration of the nominees, who are expected to appear for screening and confirmation at a date to be announced.
