Benue Killings: 2Baba Calls for Urgent Action, Says 'We Can't Pretend Anymore'

Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, known as 2Baba, has voiced strong condemnation against the persistent killings in Benue State. His criticism follows recent attacks by suspected armed herders on communities in Otukpo Local Government Area, which resulted in at least 10 deaths and several injuries on July 12, 2026.

During a visit to Otukpo-Nobi, one of the affected communities, 2Baba shared his distress on Instagram, highlighting the collective pain and urging unity. "Benue is home. When home hurts, we all feel it," he stated, emphasizing the need for solidarity and hope.

It’s becoming too much now, we can’t pretend anymore. We need to begin planning. It won’t be automatic, but there is definitely going to be a solution.

Addressing the victims, the singer expressed deep sympathy and implored stakeholders to collaborate on ending the recurring violence.
