Berlin: Nude cycling demo with around 500 participants

Approximately 500 participants joined a nude cycling demonstration in Berlin, starting in Mauerpark and proceeding towards the government district. The route covered over 30 kilometers, extending along the Berlin Wall Trail to Schönefeld. Organizers stated that participants were free to choose their level of undress, emphasizing comfort and personal choice. A core principle of naturism, according to one organizer, is meeting others without masks or status symbols, fostering a sense of equality. The event also served as a platform to promote the naturist movement, which has seen a significant decline in organized memberships. While nearly 65,000 people were members of FKK associations in the late 1990s, this number has fallen to just 34,000, according to the federal FKK association.

The demonstration highlighted the FKK movement's efforts to attract new members amidst declining numbers. Participants embraced the philosophy of naturalism, cycling through the city in various states of undress. The event underscored the organizers' desire to raise awareness and encourage participation in a lifestyle that values body positivity and the absence of social pretenses. The route, designed to be scenic and symbolic, passed through significant parts of the city, drawing attention to the cause.
