Bersatu automatically out of PN, says PAS president

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has automatically left the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition, according to PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang. He stated that Bersatu's position within PN became void the moment its president, Muhyiddin Yassin, announced the formation of a new coalition.

Abdul Hadi explained that this automatic departure is based on the party's constitution. "When its members join another coalition, they are automatically out of PN," he said. He further elaborated that Bersatu's announcement to form a new group meant it had already exited PN.

The PAS president indicated that PN does not require a formal notification to Bersatu regarding its exit. "I don't need a formal letter. Our constitution states that when someone joins another party, they are out," he asserted. This comes after Muhyiddin reportedly announced last month that Bersatu would form a new, stronger coalition with other parties after the Negeri Sembilan state election. The new coalition is said to include parties from Ikatan Prihatin Rakyat (IPR), such as Putra and Parti Bersepakat Hak Rakyat Malaysia (URIMAI).
