Bersatu confident of 'surprise' wins and forming government in Negeri Sembilan election

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) expresses strong confidence in its performance in the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election, anticipating a surprising number of victories. The party's state leadership believes its candidates can not only win several seats but potentially form the state government, a bold prediction based on perceived positive voter reception on the ground and social media feedback.

Mohamad Hanifah Abu Baker, the head of Bersatu's Negeri Sembilan chapter and a candidate himself for the Labu State Legislative Assembly seat, stated that the party is expecting to make a significant impact. He highlighted that despite this being the first time Bersatu is using its own logo in this particular election, the reception has been encouraging. "I am confident that on August 1st, Bersatu can cause a surprise and some of our candidates will become elected representatives using the Bersatu logo for the first time," he told Utusan Malaysia.

Hanifah further elaborated on the party's ambition, suggesting that winning enough seats to form the state government is a realistic goal. Bersatu is competing in 24 out of the 36 available seats in Negeri Sembilan. To secure a simple majority and form the state government, a party or coalition needs to win at least 19 seats.
