Bezzecchi smashes Silverstone lap record in blistering MotoGP practice

Marco Bezzecchi made history at the Silverstone circuit, shattering the lap record during a blistering practice session for the British MotoGP Grand Prix. The Italian rider clocked an astonishing 1:56.280 on his final flying lap, a time nearly a full second faster than the previous record of 1:57.233 set in 2025 by Fabio Quartararo.

The pace was electric from the start, with Jorge Martín initially setting a rapid pace. However, the record was soon challenged and broken by multiple riders. Marc Márquez was among the first to dip below Quartararo's previous benchmark, but the real storm came as seven riders ultimately surpassed the French rider's time.

As the session progressed and riders switched to softer tires, times continued to tumble. Raúl Fernández briefly held the fastest time, becoming the first to break into the 1:57 range. However, Bezzecchi's final lap proved unbeatable, cementing his place in the record books.
