Birthday Party Shattered by Gunfire in Peru; Three Injured

A birthday party in the Pamplona Alta sector of San Juan de Miraflores, Peru, was violently disrupted early Monday morning when assailants on a motorcycle unleashed a barrage of gunfire.

The attack, which occurred on the 12 de Noviembre street where residents had set up a tent for the celebration, left three individuals wounded. Witnesses reported that the attackers positioned themselves on the side of the road and fired directly into the gathering.

One of the injured is a merchant who sells poultry at the San Jesús market. He sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and was transported for medical attention by fellow partygoers. Another victim suffered injuries to the femur and hand, while a third had a graze wound to the head.

The shooting caused significant alarm among residents, who remained unsettled for several minutes after the gunfire ceased. The National Police of Peru (PNP) cordoned off the area, collected ballistic evidence, and began reconstructing the sequence of events. The motive behind the attack remains unknown, and investigators are exploring all hypotheses, including whether the gunfire was specifically targeted at someone present at the celebration.

Specialized police units are leading the investigation, examining nearby security cameras to identify the perpetrators and their escape route. Local residents have expressed concern over rising violence in the area and are calling for increased police presence to prevent future attacks.
