Bishkek cinemas premiere Kyrgyz films, anime, and children's adventures

Moviegoers in Bishkek have a new slate of films to choose from this Thursday, with cinemas across the city premiering a diverse range of genres. The weekly release tradition brings both local Kyrgyz cinema and international productions to the big screen.

Among the new Kyrgyz offerings are the melodrama "Egerde," which explores a childhood friendship blossoming into love facing unexpected obstacles, and the comedy "Kudai Saktaсын 2." In the latter, former criminals are tasked by police to pose as religious figures to catch con artists preying on villagers.

For younger audiences and animation fans, "Luntik. The Other Side of the Moon" follows the titular character's search for his father on the moon, while "Marsianka" presents a science fiction adventure about the first Martian born on the red planet seeking a mineral to save humanity. The popular "Posledniy bogatyr. Kolobok" also returns with a comedic twist.

The selection extends to thrillers and horror, with "Astral 6: They Are Here" about a woman who can summon spirits, and "Nightmare on Coral Grove Street" where a nanny encounters a sinister force. Action fans can watch "Rebellion," a story of a former special forces operative framed for murder, while "Flight Crash" offers a survival thriller about passengers facing sharks after a plane crash. Finally, the anime "And Dawn Will Come" centers on a young man trying to recreate a legendary firework.
