Bishkek temporarily alters 16 bus routes due to road closures for World Nomad Games

Residents and visitors in Bishkek will need to adjust their travel plans as 16 bus routes have been temporarily altered.

The changes are a direct result of road closures affecting a key section of Chuy Avenue, specifically the stretch between Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue and Abdrakhmanov Street. This closure is in effect from 8:00 PM on August 27 until 12:00 PM on August 29.

The rerouting is necessary to facilitate the preparations and proceedings of the VI World Nomad Games and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit. The mayor's office stated that these measures are essential for ensuring safe access and departure for public transport from the closed zones and for the overall safety of road users.

Buses affected by the diversions include numbers 13, 17, 23, 34, 36, 40, 50, 52, 103, 107, 118, 166, 215, 222, 227, and 254. The city administration is asking the public to be aware of these changes when planning their journeys and to consider alternative routes in advance.
