Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov has conveyed his profound sympathies to Chinese President Xi Jinping in the wake of a devastating landslide in China's Tibet Autonomous Region. The natural disaster, which struck Gyirong County on the border with Nepal on August 26, has led to significant loss of life and numerous disappearances.

In his message, President Japarov stated, "On behalf of the people of the Kyrgyz Republic and from myself personally, I express my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased. I share their pain and grief. I wish the injured a speedy recovery." The telegram underscores the solidarity between Kyrgyzstan and China in the face of tragedy.

As of August 28, official figures from Tibet reported three fatalities and 558 individuals missing due to the mudslide. The disaster also impacted neighboring Nepal, where the death toll reached 469, with approximately a thousand people still unaccounted for. The scale of the devastation highlights the severe impact of the event on both regions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has been monitoring the situation closely. Preliminary information from Chinese authorities suggests that no Kyrgyz citizens are among the reported dead or missing in either Tibet or Nepal.
