Black bear rampage in Fukushima injures four

Four people were injured in Fukushima, Japan, after being attacked by a black bear on Tuesday. The incidents occurred at different locations, with the bear's rampage beginning at the Fukushima Steel Works company, where it injured two employees.

Following the initial attack, the bear moved to a separate firm, where it assaulted a man in his 60s. It then attacked a woman in her 80s who resides in the same neighborhood. While one victim sustained severe injuries, the others suffered only minor wounds, according to authorities.

Law enforcement and fire department personnel were dispatched to the scene. The bear has not yet been apprehended and is believed to be within the premises of the second company where it was last sighted. Police have surrounded the area as they continue their search.

This incident highlights a growing concern over bear attacks in Japan. The country's Environment Ministry reported a record 13 bear-related fatalities last year, prompting some regional officials to seek extraordinary measures, including military support, to protect residents from these encounters.
