Boat fire in Fethiye bay: 115 passengers jump into water

A fire erupted on a boat carrying 115 passengers in the picturesque Katrancı Bay near Fethiye, Turkey, forcing everyone on board to jump into the sea. The incident occurred around 11:00 AM on Tuesday when flames suddenly broke out in the kitchen area of the vessel, identified as Toys Boat.

As the fire rapidly spread, engulfing the boat, the 115 individuals on board, which included children, acted quickly. They donned their life jackets and evacuated the vessel by leaping into the water. The swift response from emergency services was immediate, with the Coast Guard, coastal safety teams, and medical personnel being dispatched to the location.

Rescue operations were launched to assist the passengers who had entered the sea. Other vessels in the vicinity also contributed to the ongoing rescue efforts. Reports indicate that the boat suffered extensive damage and began to sink following the fire.
