Boca Draws, River Suffers Fourth Straight Loss in Argentina

This result places Vélez at the top of Zone A with ten points. Boca Juniors, meanwhile, remains on five points ahead of their Copa Sudamericana round of 16 tie against Deportivo Recoleta of Paraguay on Tuesday.

River Plate's struggles continued as they fell 0-1 to Tigre, with Ignacio Russo scoring the decisive goal. This loss marks River's fourth consecutive defeat in the league and their sixth overall, if previous results in the Apertura final against Belgrano and a Copa Argentina match against Aldosivi are included. The team has yet to score a goal in the tournament despite significant investment in new players, including World Cup winners Ángel Correa and the soon-to-arrive Thiago Almada.

River Plate's next challenge is the first leg of their Copa Sudamericana round of 16 match against Independiente Santa Fe in Bogotá on Wednesday. The club currently sits last in Zone B of the Torneo Clausura, with Argentinos Juniors and Barracas Central leading the group with nine points each.
