Bodies and weapon found by police near vehicle in Kranj

Kranj police in Slovenia responded to a security incident in Jeprce on Saturday morning, discovering the bodies of a man and a woman near a parked vehicle. The discovery was made shortly before 9:30 a.m. after police were alerted to the situation.

According to a statement from the Kranj Police Administration, initial findings indicate that both individuals died as a result of gunshot wounds. Crucially, the police reported that no third party appears to have been involved, suggesting the incident does not pose a threat to the surrounding area or its residents.

A comprehensive criminal investigation is currently underway at the scene. Detectives are gathering information to clarify all circumstances surrounding the event. Both the duty investigative judge and the state prosecutor were informed of the incident but did not attend the scene. Autopsies have been ordered for both bodies.

Authorities have stated that the motive behind the incident, as well as the source of the firearm and ammunition found at the scene, remain unexplained and are the subject of further forensic investigation. The state prosecutor's office will be informed of all findings. Police have pledged to share further information with the public as it becomes available.
