The Alpine Club of Pakistan confirmed Sunday that the body of renowned Nepali mountaineer Nirmal Purja, known as 'Nims Dai,' has been recovered from Broad Peak. Purja was found at an altitude of approximately 5,700 meters, three days after he and members of his expedition team were reported missing following an avalanche.

Purja's expedition organizing company, Elite Exped, had previously announced on Saturday that all members of the expedition, which included Pakistani climber Sohail Sakhi, had perished. By that time, the bodies of three climbers had been recovered, along with remains believed to belong to a climber from the United States.
