Bogor Regency plans six new stations for Parung Panjang-Jasinga railway line

The Bogor Regency government in West Java is planning the construction of six new stations along the Parung Panjang-Jasinga railway line. This initiative aims to strengthen connectivity and provide mass transit access to the western part of Bogor, aligning with the Bupati of Bogor Rudy Susmanto's directive for an integrated transportation system.

According to Bogor Regency Secretary Ajat Rochmat Jatnika, the development is not solely focused on the Puncak area but also on supporting West Bogor's transportation needs. A preliminary study conducted in 2025 by the Regional Development, Research, and Planning Agency (Bapperida) recommended the Parung Panjang-Jasinga route for development over other alternatives. This route spans approximately 27.26 kilometers and will utilize at-grade heavy rail construction.

The project is expected to create new economic growth centers by improving accessibility and mobility for residents. Jatnika emphasized that transportation development should be integral to regional development, leading to more equitable distribution of benefits. The proposed line includes six new stations and connects to the existing Parung Panjang station, with an estimated travel time of 24 minutes.

An alternative route, Tenjo-Jasinga, spanning 18.6 kilometers with three stations, was also considered. However, the Parung Panjang-Jasinga route, which passes through Parung Panjang, Rumpin, Cigudeg, Jasinga, and Tenjo, is favored for its potential to serve commuters and feed passengers into the KRL Commuter Line Jabodetabek network via Parung Panjang Station. The estimated operational cost per passenger is projected to be between Rp20,000 and Rp30,000.
