Bogor Regent Calls for Unity After Barber Intimidation Incident

Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto has called for national unity and a deeper appreciation of Indonesia's independence following an incident involving a barber in Rancabungur. The regent addressed the controversy surrounding a barber, identified as Nur Hidayat alias Abuy, who was reportedly intimidated for not having yet displayed the Indonesian flag.

"For us, the important thing is that we interpret independence today together," Susmanto stated, emphasizing the sacrifices made by national heroes. He reminded the public that the freedom enjoyed today was secured through the immense struggles, sweat, and blood of past generations. The fight for independence, he noted, did not end with the proclamation in 1945 but continued through subsequent years of defense.

Susmanto highlighted the ongoing role of all levels of government and the community in national development. He stressed that unity is the nation's greatest strength and the ultimate defense against division. "The key to successful nation-building is only one; we always convey, our nation's last line of defense is unity. Our nation's main enemy is division," he said.

The regent urged all elements of society to bridge differences and foster harmony, starting from the smallest community units up to the provincial level. "Let us unite to build the nation, weave together all differences, weave harmony together. Our nation's strength is quite large," Susmanto concluded, encouraging a collective spirit in strengthening the nation.
