Bolivia Invests in Gas Production with Inauguration of Junín-9D Well

President Rodrigo Paz marked the commencement of drilling for the Junín-9D well in Santa Cruz, underscoring his administration's commitment to investing in Bolivia's gas industry. The project, managed by YPFB Chaco, is seen as crucial for maintaining and increasing national energy production.

Paz stated that continuous investment is the "secret" to success in the gas industry, drawing an analogy to agriculture where consistent sowing leads to a harvest. He stressed the importance of ongoing investment, particularly in a nation rich with gas and crude oil resources. This new well is anticipated to yield an initial production of 8 million cubic feet per day, representing a roughly 10% increase over YPFB Chaco's current output. Furthermore, estimates suggest the recovery of approximately 10 trillion cubic feet of gas reserves.

He credited earlier administrations with discovering major hydrocarbon fields like Huamampampa, which he noted has generated over $60 billion for the country's development.
