Bolivia sends 27 athletes to Pan American Junior Karate Championship in Costa Rica

Bolivia is set to compete with a strong contingent of 27 athletes at the 35th Pan American Junior Karate Championship. The prestigious event is scheduled to take place in Cartago, Costa Rica, from Thursday until Saturday, August 29, bringing together around 1,000 young athletes from 25 different nations.

The Bolivian delegation has already arrived at the venue, ready to showcase their skills in various categories. Among the notable competitors is Leonardo Vargas, who previously secured a historic gold medal at the Youth League Karate 1 in Mexico last year. He also earned a bronze medal at the IV South American Youth Games in Panama earlier this year.

Other promising talents representing Bolivia include Ariadne Plata, Emiliano Arnez, and Gabriel Vargas, all of whom have achieved international recognition with medals in recent years. The team is accompanied by coaches Jhonatan Pinto, Álvaro Arnez, and Inti Escobar.

The championship will encompass both Kata (forms) and Kumite (combat) disciplines across different age and weight categories for both male and female athletes. The technical congress is scheduled for Wednesday, with competitions commencing on Thursday and concluding on Saturday. Delegations are expected to depart on Sunday.
