Bolzano Mayor Recovering After Heart Attack, Thanks Medical Team

Bolzano Mayor Claudio Corrarati is recovering after suffering a heart attack, his office announced. The 59-year-old mayor is in stable condition and is expected to return to his duties soon. His wife, Antonella, an professional nurse, was credited with providing crucial immediate assistance after he fell ill at home. Corrarati was rushed to San Maurizio Hospital and underwent emergency cardiac surgery. He is currently in the intensive care unit. The mayor expressed his gratitude to the Bolzano hospital's cardiology team for their "extraordinary professionalism, competence, and humanity." He also extended thanks to all healthcare personnel for their dedication. The incident prompted an outpouring of support from citizens and political colleagues across the spectrum. Roberto Muraro of FdI called Corrarati the "pillar of our council," while opposition councilor Stefano Fattor of the PD offered wishes for a full recovery. Corrarati will be temporarily replaced by Deputy Mayor Stephan Konder.
