Bone Bolango's Department of Tourism, Youth, and Sports, in collaboration with local tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis), is proactively implementing operational adjustments to tourist sites. These measures aim to counter a significant drop in visitor numbers attributed to extreme weather conditions, characterized by intense heat and strong winds.

The department head, Muhammad Yamin Abbas, noted that the current weather has directly affected popular attractions, including the Hiu Paus Botubarani whale shark site. In response, a coordination meeting with Pokdarwis resulted in a decision to prohibit entry into vulnerable tourist spots between 10:00 AM and late afternoon. This restriction is a direct response to the high winds and extreme temperatures that make these times unsafe and uncomfortable for visitors.
