Book on Indonesian Scouting Father Sri Sultan Hamengku Bawono IX Launched in Jakarta

A new book celebrating the life and legacy of Sri Sultan Hamengku Bawono IX, revered as the "Father of Indonesian Scouting," was launched at the National Library of Indonesia in Jakarta. The publication, "Takhta, Darma, dan Karsa: Pemikiran, Karya, dan Keteladanan Bapak Pramuka Indonesia Sri Sultan Hamengku Bawono IX," aims to reintroduce the profound thinking, impactful works, and exemplary character of the former Sultan of Yogyakarta.

The book focuses on instilling values of leadership, dedication, and character education in the younger generation. During the launch, the current Governor of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Bawono X, shared personal reflections on his father's leadership. He emphasized that Sri Sultan Hamengku Bawono IX's influence extended beyond his royal status, evident in his respectful treatment of all individuals, from palace staff to ordinary citizens.

"From him, I understood that a throne is truly not a privilege but a responsibility, that dharma is not a slogan but a daily practice, and that karsa is not personal ambition but the will to serve with sincerity," stated Sri Sultan HB X. His words underscored the book's central theme: the enduring relevance of his father's principles in contemporary leadership.

The official launch was marked by Sri Sultan HB X striking a gong. The event was attended by notable figures including the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Prof. Abdul Mu'ti, the Head of the National Library, Prof. E. Aminudin Aziz, and leaders from the Indonesian Scout Movement.
