Matthew Hyatt was not expected to survive after weighing just one and a half pounds at birth. He spent three months in pediatric intensive care at the University Hospital of the West Indies.

Thirty-three years later, the experiences between that difficult beginning and his life as an attorney appear to have prepared him for the hurdles he would face, the hard lessons he has learned and a decision to view life differently.
